Does the full moon affect your sleep?

For many people, the few days before and after the full moon can mean a challenge to getting a solid nights sleep.  It does for me, but not every time a full moon comes around.  All the factors that can affect a good nights rest still count, but if feels like a full moon magnifies the effects of those factors.  So while you may be cutting back on screen time before bed, limiting caffeine hours (nothing past noon!) before your head hits the pillow, or anything else that limits your ability to get good sleep, a full moon seems to dilute those efforts for many people. 

I don't think our primordial werewolf gene fires up at the full moon, but I think the additional light in the night sky and the change in gravity do affect many people.  Doing a little research on this I came across this article:

So the next time the full moon rolls around and you are laying there at 3 in the morning looking at the light streaming in through the edges of the curtains, put on the sleep mask, work on quieting your mind, and take some deep breathes knowing there are many others wishing for that new moon.
